Creation of the Operational Data Store (ODS) layer of a Data Warehouse in a financial institution – a leading debt collection and restructuring corporation. The purpose of this project, in addition to the creation of a central operational data repository for analytical and reporting purposes, was to build mechanisms of automatic generation of data loading processes based on structure and parameter dictionaries. The biggest challenge was the sheer volume of data (more than five billion records), a large number of source tables (more than five thousand), and highly dynamic data structure changes. Metastudio DRM and PostgreSQL solutions were both used in this project.
